LPL Summit 2022
It was an extremely high honor to have dinner and speak with Dan Arnold, President and Chief Financial Officer of LPL Financial, one of the most inspiring leaders of the nation's largest independent broker-dealer.
LPL Summit 2022, is an invitation-only exclusive event for LPL Financials' highly successful advisors, which kicked off on Sunday, March 27th at the beautiful Conrad Punta de Mita in Punta Mita, Mexico.
During the Summit, I was able to connect with 200+ CEOs and senior-level executives from business, finance, and government to bridge together the networks, collaborations, and knowledge that will make 2022 a decisive year.
I am excited to bring home and share with the team incredible insights and best practices in both business and finance to a level that is required to remain competitive and sustain commercial success in the financial industry.

FLAHARTY ASSET MANAGEMENT'S
“PELOTON CHALLENGE” WITH GO365 FROM HUMANA

Working at Flaharty Asset Management isn’t without its employee contests. Shon Flaharty, the Owner and CEO of Flaharty Asset Management, based in Clearwater, FL, has stepped up his game for his Peloton Bike that resides in the office. All employees are invited to participate each month in a challenge to win the coveted “Peloton Challenge Trophy”. The employees- including Shon himself; are encouraged to strap into the bike and ride for the highest number of hours that month. Whoever does so, claims the trophy for the month, allowing that employee to show it off to the office and whoever comes in. It has been a source of friendly competition among employees and is a fun way to get active!
Shon Flaharty kept in mind his desire to get employees to be fit when deciding which insurance policy to offer to his employees. Shon compared many different types of healthcare options and made the decision to use Humana Insurance. The reason for his decision was because Humana offers a program called Go365. Go365 is a well-being and rewards program that inspires members to take charge of their health 365 days a year. The rewards program allows employees to get active through many different challenges. It also rewards points for seeing a physician and taking charge of your own health. Through the points system you are able to earn prizes; you can receive gift cards to well-known stores such as: Target, Best-Buy, Walmart and many more. You can also earn enough points to lower the premium on your insurance.
FLAHARTY ASSET MANAGEMENT HOLIDAY PARTY

TAMPA BAY MUSEUM OF ART
Jim Degenhardt, Senior Vice President of Flaharty Asset Management and member of the Foundation Board at the Tampa Museum of Art, congratulated the Museum’s new Executive Director, Dr. Michael Tomor, on the “In Living Color: Andy Warhol & Contemporary Printmaking” exhibit during the show’s well-attended opening reception.
Flaharty Asset Management attended ARMA event in support of Stay in Step
(Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center).
ARMA is a responsive, mission-focused company founded and staffed primarily by former active duty Special Operations Forces (SOF) IT/C4 professionals and SOF Operators with a deep desire to continue supporting the SOF community out of uniform.
CWO3 (Chief Warrant Officer) Romulo “Romy” Camargo has close to 20 years in the U.S. Army and is still active. While conducting a combat operation on September 16, 2008 his detachment was viciously ambushed. During the ambush CWO3 Camargo sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the neck. The gunshot wound paralyzed him from the neck down. Romy’s vertebrae had been shattered and needed to be extracted. After this surgery, his breathing was tied to a respirator and he was paralyzed from the shoulders down. He was then transferred to James A. Haley VA hospital in Tampa Florida where he spent 18 months. The Camargo’s current challenge is ensuring they have access to the appropriate level of physical therapy suggested by medical experts. The closest recreational facility is 105 miles away in Orlando. Although they travel back and forth to Orlando, they see an opportunity and a lack of services in Tampa. This facility is not only for the Camargo’s benefit but to provide a continuum of care for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

FLAHARTY SUPPORT THROUGH GOLF
At Flaharty Asset Management supporting charities in the Bay area is a way of giving back to the community that supports us. Over the last few years Flaharty Asset Management has made donations and participated in events for charities such as The Arc of Tampa Bay, Salvation Army, Charity Works, Special Olympics, Morton Plant Mease Foundation just to name a few.
Most recently, a Flaharty Asset Management team competed in the Louis “LJ” Piniella Memorial Golf Tournament at Avila Golf and Country Club in order to support a great cause, GiGi’s Playhouse.
In early 2016, a group of impassioned parents and individuals formed a start-up team with the goal of opening a GiGi’s Playhouse in the Tampa Bay area. After demonstrating the commitment and need in the community, the Tampa location was approved by the national non-profit organization to open an affiliate to serve the estimated 3400 individuals with Down syndrome living in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa is fulfilling the dream of the Down syndrome community of having a location where individuals with Down syndrome of all ages have a place to call their own, where they feel safe and can explore their abilities through proven programs with support and celebration. Parents no longer feel the anxiety of finding a place where their loved one will be unconditionally accepted and offered opportunity to become their best of all. Each participant will grow with the programs at their own pace and interact with their peers in an environment of celebration and achievement. No matter the age, individuals with Down syndrome will be offered the opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills. Families will experience support and learn that they are not alone and are part of an amazing community that appreciates the joys and highlights the positive.
Shon Flaharty and Flaharty Asset Management is proud to partner with and support great organizations like GiGi’s Playhouse
